Phytophthora has been rebuilt to fix security-related problems and to restore GIS tools. These tools allow users to visualize the geospatial, temporal, and environmental contexts of Phytophthora discoveries. The next phase is to update species information and add data derived from large-scale surveys. If you have suggestions and requests to make the database better, please contact Seogchan Kang (sxk55@psu.edu).

Isolated from bark canker on dying alder tree by Michael D Coffey. Location: Scenic near Howard Way, Costa Mesa, California. Note on first record in Southern California. I became aware of large numbers of alders dying in southern California about a year ago. Since that time I have managed to isolate P. siskiyouensis from a trunk lesion of a dying tree in Costa Mesa. Previously, Cheryl Blomquist had reported on an outbreak on alders in Foster City caused by P. siskiyouensis. Michael D Coffey. November 2007.
